A passionate Entrepreneur, Sommelier & an Author with domain and expertise in Food & Beverages

A seasoned hospitality professional and an awarded sommelier, I started my career at Taj Mahal Palace and tower, Mumbai as a Management Trainee. After graduating from Institute of Hotel Management Shimla, my quest to learn, grow and diversify has been the core driving force.

 

Along with many other certifications, the Level 3 in beverage studies from WSET, London has been the most challenging and rewarding certification, only a select few in India have been able to successfully complete it.

 

With “WSET Level 3” academic training in wines and spirits and exposure under world renowned Master sommeliers, my work portfolio at Taj Mahal Hotel, New Delhi was diversified from managing the much awarded restaurant Wasabi by Morimoto to being the Sommelier of the Taj Mahal Hotel.

 

As the Director of Beverages at JW Marriott, New Delhi my responsibilities included shaping their Beverages program and playing a global role as a member of Marriott’s Asia Pacific Beverage Advisory Board.

My Ventures

Always wanting to be my own boss, I wanted to take extensive experience in companies before venturing out on my own.

 

Post my stint in Luxury hotels under the brands of Taj and Marriott; My first venture was an outdoor catering firm called “One fine Meal” and second, a beverage enterprise company  “Scope Bev”.

One of the most humbling experiences of my life was being in the Taj Mahal Hotel, Mumbai during 26/11 attacks. As a survivor, I authored a book titled “14 Hours, An Insider’s Account of 26/11 Taj Attacks”, the book is available in English & Marathi. 

In addition, my articles are frequently published in reputed newspapers, print/ online magazines and on my blog.
